Goodbye summer...HELLO ART ROOM:)

I am so looking forward to my 13th year teaching art at Pinconning Area Schools! Students get ready to create and get messy:) We will begin the year with 3D drawing and Value skills. Bring a pencil and an eraser FIRST DAY.

Syllabuses will be available online HERE next week. It is very helpful if you view it online and print and get parent signatures for the first day.

ART FEE for ALL STUDENTS is $15.00 each semester. FEES are due October 1, 2014. FEES can NOT be given to me, but please instead pay your fee at the school bookstore. You will get a receipt to SHOW me and to GIVE to your parent/guardian. Checks can be made out to : Pinconning Area Schools.

YouTube Video Selection DUE WEDNESDAY, March 19

1.Go to Youtube.com and search for your artist.
2. Watch a variety of videos on your artist to better understand your artist.
3. Select ONE youtube video to share with your class on your artist. The video can vary in length (time) but it should not exceed 10 minutes.
4. Your video does not have to be a biography on your artist.
5. The PURPOSE of the youtube video is to prepare your students for learning about your artist and to give them an idea of what type of artist they are going to be learning about.

Imagine is intended to help inspire creative thinking in your students. The activities focus on the first stage of the creative process, where students imagine what could be rather than what is. That includes generating ideas, asking questions, finding answers, and developing possible solutions

Art History Friday ( Jan. 24) Abs. Make-Up Assignment DUE TUESDAY



1. Print off the above handout.
2. Watch the following YouTube clips on the Lascaux Caves in France posted on this site:

       2. (2:15) Caves of Lascaux
        3. (7:20) The Adventures of Lascaux Cave Painting.
3. Complete the handout by answering the given uestions from the video clips above. Use the web if necessary for additional research.
4. On the back of your handout, draw an image that looks like a cave painting. Use what you have to make it look realistic (watercolor & pencil? charcoal and chalk pastels? or...just pencil if that's all you have at home). BUT draw this image in candlelight, such as by using a flashlight. This is how the cave painters 17,0000 painted!
